// ROYAL WAVE
Here’s Queen Elizabeth II on her second visit to New Zealand (her first was in 1953). This was taken in Russell in February 1963. The Queen was in New Zealand for 13 days, and attended celebrations marking the 123rd anniversary of the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Speaking of anniversaries, this year is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – she’s been the monarch for 70 years. Celebrations are culminating with a four-day bank holiday weekend in the UK next weekend.
