Banks criticised

It was somewhat disturbing to read the headline ‘Banks step up pressure on Fonterra, farmers’ (Waikato Times 2/12/22). Here we have a bunch of institutions who have given up on the concept of any service to the public but continue to enjoy the ability to hold all our money and make huge profits from manipulating it. Now they are trying to tell the ones who actually own the money what activity they can indulge in and how it should be done.

If ever there was a case where the Government should have had a good look at nationalising an industry, this would have been it. And why are they trying it on? Because in this country they can get away with it. They, like other ‘service’ industries, no longer recognise the purpose they were meant to serve — for which they should be penalised.
