Hamilton West candidates

It was great so many people turned up for the Hamilton West by-election candidates’ debate organised by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce.

I cannot understand why people who do not live or work in Hamilton West are standing for the Hamilton West byelection. What do they know about the community that lives in Hamilton West? How are they going to provide service to the Hamilton West community if elected?

If the community wants any help 24 hours a day, should they go in search of them at their residence or workplace which is not in Hamilton West?

In the 2017 General Election campaign, the Labour Party made false promises in

Hamilton West and East stating that if elected they will open up all community police outlets.

Five years have gone by and we have not seen the community police outlets in Hamilton East, Waikato University, Vardon Road, Flagstaff, Glenview, Dinsdale and Nawton. Frontline police officers had also not increased in proportion to the growth in population.

Ramraids, burglary, violence, stabbing, shooting and crime had increased since Labour came into power.
