Why do our city roads and roadway gardens look like a tip with weeds everywhere and overgrown gardens?

It is very sad that visitors to the city and local residents/ratepayers have to put up with this each day.

Council’s priorities should be on the looks of the city first rather than wasting money with strategies to slow traffic with humps, platforms and unofficial pedestrian crossings let alone the plastic pipes and painted lanes for the non-existent cyclists.
