Death in workplace

A person has died following what has been described as a “workplace incident” near Ōtorohanga. Emergency services were called to the workplace, which is on Maihiihi Rd, a largely rural road near the township, about 10.15am yesterday. Attempts to save the injured person's life were unsuccessful, however. Worksafe has been notified and the death has been referred to the Coroner.
