Grateful cyclist

I’d like to congratulate our council on providing safe cycling between Tahunanui Beach and Waimea Rd. I thoroughly enjoyed biking home after a swim last week – apart from two busy roads to cross, the ride was peaceful and serene in the evening sun, on protected bike paths and shared off-road paths all the way.

On that occasion, all of us had arrived at the beach from different points of the compass by bike, on foot or by bus – I had brought my bike on the bus – and we all enjoyed the getting there as much as the being there.

Let’s hope this summer sees more and more people choosing the happy and healthy ways of getting to the beautiful places our region abounds in. Hats off to the council for making this possible.
