Teachers reject deal
Tens of thousands of primary and area school teachers have rejected pay offers made by the Ministry of Education. A poll of members from the New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI) Te Riu Roa union shows strong opposition to settling their collective agreements. The results of the ballot are due to be announced on Tuesday. Union president Liam Rutherford said many teachers felt the Government wasn’t listening.
