Woman faces murder charge after man found dead

A 40-year-old woman has been charged with murder following a man’s death in Mt Wellington. Police responding to reports of an injured man at a Kāinga Ora property found him dead when they arrived. They said they were not seeking anyone else in relation to the death. The woman appeared at the Auckland District Court yesterday morning and was granted interim name suppression. She was remanded in custody until her appearance at the High Court on December 20. Her lawyer, Hannah Cheeseman, requested the woman be seen by a prison doctor “urgently”.
