Gutted building unstable

An exclusion zone remains in place at an inner Sydney building mostly destroyed by fire, with police and specialist firefighters warning that it could collapse. Experts from Fire and Rescue New South Wales and police investigators are working to determine the stability of the charred remains of the seven-storey building in Surry Hills. Drones and laser-measuring tools are being used to assess unstable walls and patches of smouldering fires within the massive piles of charred materials. About 50 people living in the area have been displaced since the inferno at the former hat factory on Thursday.
