Get making
Studies show one of the best ways to get out of your head, is to do something with your hands. It doesn’t seem to matter what that something is, sewing, drawing, baking, even kneading bread works, it all has the same brain-calming effect. Working with your hands helps our brains switch off and get into a flow state. A little like being in a meditative trance, when you’re in the flow hours slip by peacefully, and it’s rare for our thoughts to intrude. And remember no one except you needs to see what you make, it’s all about the process. The end result is just icing on the relaxation cake.
